The Midlands TNR Challenge runs through September – support Richland or Lexington county here, and help your choice earn an additional $1,000 for TNR.

The Animal Mission is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative to further our ongoing Trap-Neuter-Return program for feral (or neighborhood) cats. The Midlands TNR Challenge hopes to engage the public in a Richland County vs. Lexington County competition for the most support and donations received. The program, launched February 1st, is designed to foster a fun and competitive avenue for the public to support their county’s TRN efforts.

While both counties will benefit from the contributions made, the ‘winner’ will be announced in September in conjunction with the annual Palmetto Peanut Boil fundraiser. The winning county will receive an additional $1,000 for TNR from The Animal Mission.

For every increment of $32 received, the county selected by the donor will receive one additional spay or neuter procedure to be used by residents of their county.

Vouchers within each county will be made available to the community as donations are received, and may be picked up at the City of Columbia Animal Shelter and Lexington Country Animal Services. Residents of both counties are encouraged to call first to check availability before visiting to claim a voucher.
